Content-Sharing Strategies: I Did a Thing!
As bloggers, one of the ways we make money is through advertisement placements on our sites. But how do we achieve this? Through traffic! There are many ways to drive traffic to your site quality content, SEO, social media, and more.
One of my tactics for implementing content-sharing strategies has been sending broadcast messages to my contacts. I have many people on my contact list, like friends, family, acquaintances, colleagues, etc. While I don’t send broadcast messages frequently, I’ve still been sharing my blog post links, asking them to read, comment, like, and share.
I got responses, but over time, I started feeling guilty. Am I bothering these people? Are they too shy to tell me to stop? I began cutting down my list, removing contacts if they didn’t respond to my last two messages.
Honestly, I wasn’t angry at anyone. Instead, I felt guilty for possibly intruding. Not too long ago, my friend Cheeseball (check out her YouTube channel here 👉 ZEEZAH’S Kitchen !) wanted to start sharing content. She came to my DMs asking for my consent to send her promo links, and that gave me an idea. I decided to be bold and ask my contacts for their consent to send them my blog links.
So, I deleted my old broadcast list and created a new one, adding only those who showed interest. Seeing people come through for me, even those who had been silent supporters was heartwarming.
One comment stood out. Someone shared how helpful my blog has been and how much they enjoy reading my posts. I’ll attach the screenshot below.
Now, I feel confident sharing my links without worrying about bothering anyone. To everyone who consented, thank you from the bottom of my heart. And to those who didn’t respond, I’m still grateful for your presence. Moving forward, I know I’m not intruding, and I can share my links guilt-free!
Other Content-Sharing Strategies to Explore
Just as I mentioned earlier, WhatsApp is just one of the strategies I use. I also share my content on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Don’t forget to search for relevant hashtags to help you tap into wider conversations. There are blogging directories where you can be more vocal about your content.
- Email newsletters are another valuable strategy. While I haven’t utilized this much, as WordPress automatically sends my posts to subscribers’ emails, it’s an excellent way to keep your audience engaged.
- Participating in online communities is also a great approach. Engaging in forums while sharing your content can help you connect with like-minded individuals and reach new audiences.
- SEO optimization is key in everything you do. Make sure to optimize your content and use relevant keywords that will help you appear in search results. Take the time to read more and research this; following best practices is essential.
- Lastly, collaboration and partnership cannot be overstated. You can’t do it all alone. Collaborate with others, produce quality content, guest post, and partner with like-minded creators. You’ll be amazed at how far you can go!
Key Takeaways
- Personal Growth: I’ve learned that as much as we want to be seen, heard, or read, we need to consider the recipients of our messages too. Seeking consent is important when entering someone’s DMs. I also share my blog links on my status, which doesn’t require anyone’s consent since it’s my space.
- Community Support: Building a community of people who have your best interests at heart is essential. These are the ones who will always support you and your endeavours.
- Audience Engagement: Provide quality content, write relatable material, and keep your audience engaged. When you do this, they’ll always come back.
As a vendor, blogger, or content creator, how have you been sharing your content? Do you do it guilt-free? I want to learn from you!
