I’ve been up to a lot lately! How are you doing? Recently, I saw a post about ChatGPT where someone mentioned how they used to do everything by themselves, but now ChatGPT has become their go-to for almost everything. This sparked some interesting discussions, and I thought I’d weigh in here.This post is about using ChatGPT effectively without losing your creativity.
AI tools like ChatGPT are becoming increasingly popular because they make work easier and faster. But are we using them wisely?

Before going into using ChatGPT effectively, let’s gist small. what’s been keeping me busy? A lot! Let me fill you in:

Also, Global Shapers Community Projects: I’m managing media for our upcoming event, “Meet the Leader,” scheduled for December 21st. Additionally, I just completed a 93-page content calendar for “Project SafeSpaceForHer” within the Ilorin Global Shapers Community. Homeschooling My Toddler: I’m super proud of our progress as I’ve been balancing work and home responsibilities while teaching my toddler before starting school. He’s doing really well and he loves book and other montessori activities we have have been up to 🤗.
Media Management for My Husband: My husband recently started a new content series called The Wedding Gist. After a year of planning and scripting, it’s finally happening! NIPR Induction: On a professional note, I was recently inducted into the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations as an associate. This is a big win for my career in public relations and advertising, I’m super interested in crisis management.
My Thoughts on ChatGPT
Let’s talk about ChatGPT. I use it too, but I’ve made a conscious effort not to rely on it entirely. I find it great for learning and brainstorming, but I prefer doing my own work and using it to refine my ideas. Balancing creativity and AI is essential for maintaining authenticity, that’s where using ChatGPT effectively comes in
When I first discovered ChatGPT, I was amazed by its capabilities. I even used it to edit a couple of episodes of my pregnancy journey blog series. While it made the content sound polished, I realized it had stripped away my unique tone and voice, the very things that attract readers to my blog. That’s when I decided to stop relying on it for the “lazy job” and focus on preserving my authenticity.
Don’t get me wrong, ChatGPT is an incredible tool. It’s helpful for tasks like content review and idea generation. For instance, while working on the recent content calendars, I ran out of ideas and turned to ChatGPT for suggestions. Surprisingly, 90% of what it provided matched the ideas I had already jotted down. This reinforced my belief in my creative abilities and showed me that AI should complement, not replace, our creativity.
Using ChatGPT effectively
I’m not demonizing ChatGPT. All I’m saying is that we should use it smartly. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
Don’t Let It Steal Your Creativity: Overusing AI can make your work lose its originality. For example, many billboard ads now have a uniform tone that’s clearly AI-generated, making them less impactful.I miss when I used to stop to check the next catchy phrase on billboard as an advertising student.
Maintain Your Voice: Your unique style is what makes your work stand out. Use ChatGPT to enhance your ideas, not replace them.
Double-Check AI Outputs: I once accidentally sent an email that included my ChatGPT prompt. It was embarrassing! Since then, I’ve made sure to review everything thoroughly before sending it out.
Use It as a Learning Tool: ChatGPT is excellent for gaining new insights and perspectives. However, always take the time to think and create first.
